Adapting to Climate Change
Under the 2008 Climate Change Act, the Government has the power to ask appropriate authorities to report on how their business would adapt to Climate Change. The strategy identified a number of airports as being of particular importance to the UK economy that was at risk from the impacts of climate change. Airports are required to submit comprehensive plans on how their business would adapt to ensure business continuity before 31st March 2011, having been evaluated by Cranfield University.
AOA continues to support members through a series of workshops. These workshops have been attended by representatives from Defra, UKCIP, the Environment Agency and Cranfield University to assisting and offering guidance to airports regarding the production and requirements of an Adaptation report.
