Airport Membership

Currently there are 68 Airport Members of the AOA, ranging from the largest to some of the smaller airport operators in Britain. Common to all are the unparalleled range of benefits and opportunities that membership affords. These include:

Policy
• Engagement with government, regulators and other policy makers responsible for the framework within which our industry operates. Strong relationships with officials in all relevant areas provides a valuable opportunity to assist in the shaping of aviation policy and regulation. AOA has seen recent successes on Aviation Duty, helping airports to create a safe and secure environment at the entrance of their terminals and a successful call for a UK airspace strategy.

• Participation in the AOA Groups, covering matters of vital interest including Operations and Safety, General Aviation and Security. The groups, together with their associated working groups and occasional seminars are the principal forums in which industry knowledge and expertise is shared, and policy developed.

Networking
• Attendance at the AOA Annual Dinner, the most prestigious event in the aviation calendar, held each year on the first Tuesday in March at the London Hilton. An opportunity for you and your guests to network with the influential figures from the aviation industry.

• Attendance at the AOA Annual Conference and the opportunity to participate in the associated exhibition and social programme.

• Attendance at additional conferences throughout the year on subjects including Security, Operations and Safety and the Environment, as well as periodic receptions at the House of Commons.

• Receive copies of the annual directory, with a full list of all members and main contacts for each organisation, together with access to a regularly updated electronic version in the members area of our web site. In addition you receive copies of our quarterly publication, The Airport Operator, which contains editorial and comment on airport and related issues.

Airport members must be CAA licensed. Subscriptions are either calculated according to air traffic movements reported to the CAA or, in the case of GA airports, based on the RFFS category of the airport and are charged for a calendar year. There is a group discount subscription for airports run by the same operator. For more information about becoming an Airport Member please contact Rachel Dorban 020 7340 0990 or racheldorban@aoa.org.uk
