AOA launch new report - What is the contribution of aviation to the UK economy?
3 - 2 November 2010

On 03 November 2009 AOA launched What is the contribution of aviation to the UK economy? an independent economic study produced by Oxera Consulting Ltd.

The report provides the first overall assessment of the role of the aviation sector in the UK economy since the Oxford Economic Forecasting (OEF) report of 2006.

As the General Election approaches the debate on aviation will intensify. The report contributes to that debate by assessing the industry’s economic role, both directly and as a catalyst for the wider economy, and examining the downstream impacts, on wealth creation and employment, of possible changes to the policy framework.

AOA has also released its pre-election policy manifesto: Cleared for Take Off, which sets out a vision for aviation policy which recognises the sector’s economic contribution and its role in improving the performance of the wider economy by stimulating connectivity, trade and investment which in turn creates wealth, jobs and, tax revenues.
