Air Southwest eases London''s commuter strain

Air Southwest''s London City to Plymouth route has proved popular with passengers.

The airline said that since the service launched in March this year it has provided a fast and reliable link to London which cuts hours off commuters'' journeys.

Peter Davies, managing director of Air Southwest, said: "When we launched our London City service three months ago we set out to revolutionise air travel between Devon, Cornwall and London."

He added that the feedback the airline has received from business customers leads him to believe that the company has achieved its objective.
The airline said that same day returns are becoming more popular with passengers and that air travel could soon overtake train as the most popular option for south-west commuters.

Passengers in the south-west can now fly their pets from Bristol Airport after the facility opened an animal reception in July.
