Responding to recommendations from the Government-appointed Climate Change Committee that international aviation should be included in a UK-wide target to reduce carbon emissions by 80% by 2050, Executive Chairman Ed Anderson says: “Tackling aviation emissions needs to take place at an international level. It is counterproductive to set a UK-only emissions reduction target for aviation, which will simply result in emissions being shifted elsewhere in Europe whilst costing passengers more. 07/10/2008
