3. Our basis for contacting you

AOA communicates regularly with members to ensure they are kept informed with relevant policy/regulatory updates, to seek members’ input and views on issues and developments and also to communicate about AOA events. To do so, we use personal data to keep in touch with individuals within our membership organisation, as well as partners and other individuals. We use the information that you provide us to send you relevant information which may be by post, email, text message or telephone.

We may also use the information we hold about you to provide details of other products or services we feel may be of interest to you.

As a membership organisation, we operate primarily with businesses (rather than individuals) and therefore, we do not generally seek your consent to send you marketing communications. We believe our marketing communications are both in our legitimate interests, to raise awareness of our work and promote our services, and in your interests. You do have the right to request that we stop sending you marketing communications by letting us know at: dataprotection@aoa.org.uk and we will update your preference.
