The AOA attended all three of the main party conferences this autumn. We joined forces with the Transport Hub, a broad coalition of transport organisations, to help organise two fringe events at each of the conferences. Transport Hub members include AOA, ABTA, The Travel Association, the All Party Light Rail Group, the British Parking Association, and the Freight Transport Association.
With Energy and Climate Change Secretary, Ed Davey
The Liberal Democrats conference had three fringe events and an evening reception:
Most of the daytime activity centred around the Sustainable Aviation (SA) stand. We met and discussed SA with several key members of the Lib Dem senior team, including Deputy PM Nick Clegg, Business Secretary Vince Cable, Energy & Climate Change Secretary Ed Davey, former Transport Minister Norman Baker, Chief Treasury Secretary Danny Alexander, former Scottish Secretary Michael Moore, Local Government Minister Don Foster, new peer Lord Brian Paddock and Lib Dem President Tim Farron.
We also spoke with several backbench Lib Dem MPs, such as Michael Crockart (Edinburgh West and BIS Select Committee) and Gordon Birtwhistle (Burnley), and also Phil Benyon MEP (West Midlands).
